OCEAN LOVERS

WHO WE ARE

An independent Berlin-based collaborative and film company. Leyendas is the Spanish name for legends, and has the English word eye in it.

Our projects are rooted in EMOTIONAL TRUTH AND SOCIAL RELEVANCE: sometimes poetic, sometimes political, often funny, always human. Stories that linger, shift perspective, or simply make people feel heard and seen.

COLLABORATION is at our core, RESPECT is an imperative.

We walk the talk when it comes to DIVERSITY: class, race, disability, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or other barriers - we don’t tick boxes, we make space.

We BELIEVE IN humor over ego, fair pay and fair chances, courage and flexibility, teamwork over hierarchy, and stories that matter.

Rooted in Berlin’s INDIE ART SCENE, we carry its energy with us: courageous, a bit rebellious, and full of heart. Come and work with us!

CREATIVE HEARTS

Each artist is an awarded professional with decades of experience in her*his field, some of our collaborative projects in stage and film date back to 2008.

BIRGIT STAUBER

produces, plays, writes, edits, directs

BIRGIT is a multiple-award winning Austrian, Berlin-based actress, director and screenwriter with a love for raw emotion and radical tenderness.

After two Master’s Degrees (Musical & Directing Musical Theatre) she studied film acting in L.A. and appeared in 70+ roles in the last three decades. In recent years, Stauber has expanded her portfolio directing music videos and short films, sharpening her visual storytelling.

Her indie feature Freak City in her role as producer, writer and actress (Hof World Premiere, Max Ophüls selection, currently on Amazon Germany) tells a love story between deaf and hearing - close to its characters, real as life. Her feature debut The Last Night dives into passion, loss and love.

Birgit is an artivist with a Berlin leftist pulse: loud when needed, tender where it hurts. Aware of her privilege as a white, middle-class European woman, she leverages visibility and access to speak up for human rights, show up at protests, and publicly support a free Palestine. For her, art is neither decoration nor polite - it refuses silence and challenges staying comfortable.

She is a Torino Film Lab alumna, former Emmy juror, member of Equity UK, the BVR (German Director´s Association), and the European Film Academy.

DOMINIK WIRTH

plays, sings, speaks, produces, composes

DOMINIK is a Venezuelan-born actor, composer, singer/songwriter (KNIXX), speaker and producer based in Berlin.

The cat-fanatic stars in the award-winning docu-fiction Triple F*** as comforting, loving boyfriend and has performed in Berlin’s improv scene since 2006, winning Best Stage Player and Improv Singer in 2024.

He tours as a DJ for rapper MÄDNESS, including Fettes Brot support, collaborates regularly with filmmaker Naomi Beukes, and has composed for Freak City and the stage play christa/kassandra. Recently he has produced six music videos, three directed by Birgit Stauber, and premiered his solo concert as KNIXX at Kulturhausinsel Berlin in summer 2025.

Dominik´s political stance can be heard and felt in his music. Anti-racism and calls for intersectionality are self-evident in his demand for societal change. He´s an outspoken artist on anti-colonialism and the consequences of structural inequality.

Accredited at Cannes since 2020, he is gradually shifting into indie filmmaking and will perform the title song and play the lead in his first feature, The Last Night.

NAOMI BEUKES

writes, plays, speaks, produces

NAOMI is a Namibian-born, Berlin-based writer, producer, actress, and cultural activist whose work spans film, theatre, and literature, bridging African storytelling with diasporic experiences in Europe.

In recognition of her cultural impact, she was nominated in 2017 as one of the 100 Most Influential Africans Living in Europe.

Naomi began her professional career at the National Theatre of Namibia and was part of the production team for Namibia’s historic Independence Celebrations in 1990. These formative experiences shaped a lifelong commitment to the arts as a tool for cultural expression, political engagement, and community dialogue.

After the multiple award winning web series THE CENTRE she is currently in pre-production on her first feature film A Field of Roses, spanning the lives of four generations of women within a Namibian family. Her literary work includes the novel The Fire in Me, focusing on HIV/AIDS and resilience in African communities.

In addition to her creative practice, Naomi is a committed activist and public speaker. She regularly participates in panels, talks, and screenings at international festivals and institutions. Through her work on and off screen, she continues to advocate for anti-racism, representation, and the visibility of African women filmmakers in Europe.

SABINE ANASTASIA HACK

dances, choreographs, produces, photographs

SABINE is a Berlin-based choreographer, dancer, and dance teacher with Greek and German roots.

From childhood on, movement was her refuge and her language, guiding her through a professional life on stages in Germany and internationally, including performances with Culture Beat and La Bouche, and five formative years at the Friedrichstadt-Palast.

Her life experiences - joyful, painful, liberating -brought her clarity and flew into Burlazz, a dance form Sabine created that blends diverse influences while breaking rules. Burlazz is a space where women can reclaim their bodies, explore their femininity, and resist the societal norms and constraints imposed on them. For her, it is both artistic practice and political statement: a radical embrace of freedom and solidarity with other women.

Sabine is also a passionate dance teacher, visible activist and sensitive photographer. When she teaches dance or speaks about dance history, there is always a relevant connection to the here and now. Her portrait and dance photography is a gift to every artist as she sees beyond the obvious.

She regularly participates and documents protests in Berlin in solidarity with Palestine, publicly advocating for human rights and justice. Her work  - both on stage and in public spaces - combines the line between art and activism, creating arenas where movement, resistance, and collective empowerment meet.
